Responsibilities:
We are looking for a senior mobile engineer with strong iOS production experience, real backend hands-on ability, and a practical AI-native workflow.
What you will do:
1. Own mobile feature delivery end-to-end: from product logic and UI flow to API integration, QA, TestFlight, and App Store release readiness.
2. Implement iOS flows in Swift/UIKit and work with existing iOS architecture and legacy code.
3. Debug, refactor, stabilize, and improve performance without unnecessary rewrites.
4. Integrate backend APIs and help shape API contracts between mobile and backend.
5. Contribute to backend changes when a feature requires it: APIs, scripts, services, or backend-adjacent functionality.
6. Work with Firebase, configuration layers, analytics, release layers, and product experimentation setup.
7. Build and integrate AI-powered product flows, including text and voice coach experiences.
8. Use AI tools and agentic workflows across coding, testing, documentation, and delivery — while fully owning the final engineering output.
Candidate Expectations & Technical Expertise:
1. Strong commercial iOS experience with Swift and UIKit, 4+ years preferred.
2. Experience with real production mobile applications and ability to own iOS feature delivery end-to-end: app logic, UI flow, API integration, edge cases, debugging, QA, TestFlight, and release preparation.
3. Ability to work with existing iOS architecture and legacy code: refactoring, stabilizing, improving performance, and shipping without unnecessary rewrites.
4. Strong understanding of REST APIs, mobile/backend integration patterns, auth flows, error handling, retries, caching, backward compatibility, and release impact.
5. Ability to think about API as a contract between backend and mobile app: data structure, required and optional fields, error states, edge cases, and expected app behavior.
6. Real backend hands-on experience. You do not need to be a backend specialist, but you should have written or changed server-side logic, APIs, scripts, services, or backend-adjacent functionality.
7. Experience with configuration and release layers: Firebase, feature flags, environment configuration, analytics, QA, or product experimentation setup.
8. Practical AI-native engineering workflow with tools like Claude, Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT, or agentic systems — with the judgment to verify, review, and fully own the output.
9. Strong engineering ownership: you clarify requirements, understand dependencies, surface risks, communicate trade-offs, and drive features to production-ready state.
10. Ability to work in a startup environment with changing priorities, imperfect systems, and high responsibility.
11. Fluent Russian for team collaboration and professional English for documentation, product discussions, and technical materials.
Nice to have:
Experience with Drupal, PHP, Pantheon, Firebase Remote Config, AI integrations, LLM-powered features, voice AI, Amplitude, CI/CD for iOS, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, MariaDB, Redis, Solr, Varnish, monitoring tools, EdTech, gamified learning products, or working as the main mobile engineer in a small product team.
